Головна Філологічні науки → Лінгвопрагматична типологія репрезентуючого компонента в системі форм репродукції чужої мови (на матеріалі англомовних оповідань XX століття)

принципов:

1. Позиция РК относительно чужой речи (препозитивные, интерпозитивные, кольцевые, постпозитивные);

2. Структурный диапазон (от структурно-расширенных до нулевых и структурно-выделенных);

3. Семантическое наполнение репрезентирующего глагола: 1) нейтральные и эмоционально-экспрессивные; 2) глаголы, передающие языковую сторону коммуникации и глаголы, передающие паралингвистическую сторону коммуникации;

RESUME

Artsishevska A.L. Linguopragmatic typology of introducing components in the system of repоrted speech forms (as based on the 20th century Anglophone stories). Manuscript.

A thesis for the Scholarly Degree of Candidate of Philology in speciality 10.02.04 Germanic languages. Ivan Franko National University in L'viv. L'viv, 2001.

The thesis sets out to provide a comprehensive analysis of language means and pragmatic functions of the Introducing Component in three kinds of reported speech: direct, indirect and represented.The said component is a speech segment manifested in pre-positional, medial, post-positional or circular constituents introducing the speech of characters along the plane of utterance structure as well as its semantics and pragmatics.

The study of numerous types and kinds of introducing components (as based on the 20th century Anglophone stories) provided grounds for their differentiating according to their structural,positional, semantic, pragmatic and graphical characteristics.

Priority is given to distinguishing introducing components as regards speech acts manifestation as well as expressive structural means.

The system of introducing components is permeated with the subjectivizing force which might be represented at the structural, positional and graphical levels.

The comprehensive study of theoretical and practical aspects of the introducing components functioning in all types of speech has brought us to the conclusion that the character of introduction of a new to the author's narration layer is defined by the interaction of these two layers.

The tendency towards subjectivization of representing components has been registered not only on the structural level but also positional and graphical. Among new tendencies of great interest is the existence of contextual representing components which are typical of the complexes with direct and represented speech certifying the weakening of the main representing function and the strengthening of the commenting function. Semantic typology has demonstrated the increase in paralinguistic verbs denoting prosodic and kinetic aspects of communication. The interdependence between the structure, position and semantics of representing components has been stated. For structurally extended introducing components the most typical position is pre- and post-position, whereas for schematic with neutral meaning verbs it is the medial position. Circular introducing components can have different structure, the pre-positional part of it denotes paralinguistic aspect of communication and inter – or postpositional parts explicating the speech act.

The corpus has revealed an increase in paralinguistic verbs denoting prosodic and kinetic aspects of speech intercourse. Structurally extended introducing component most typically occurs in the initial and final positions; the schematic one with the verbs of neutral meaning being usually found in interposition. Circular introducing component are found to be varied, the pre-positional part of the latter denotes paralinguistic aspect of communication, its inter- or post-positional parts explicating the speech act.

In the structurally extended introducing components the prosodic and kinetic introducing elements are usually found in the initial position within a circular structure.

The introducing components discourse pragmatics is influenced by the author's and characters' intentionality as well as their encoding and decoding speech strategies. The introducing components verbal microfield encompasses a number of significations which are displayed in the direct influence on the reader's perception. Taking into consideration the pragmatic qualities of introducing verbs, several types of the introducing components have been singled out:

1. Representatives verbs which state the fact of speech or thought: say, tell, think, reflect, muse;

2. Directives verbs the pragmatic aim of which is to persuade, to warn, to force to communication : ask, order, command, advise.

3. Emotives verbs reflecting psychological state of characters: shout, moan, groan, weep, beam;

4. Descriptives verbs, which create the authenticity of description, accompanying gestures, movements, characteristics of interlocutors: wink, blink, gesture;

5. Interpetors – verbs giving interpretation of the character's speech, changing its content: bark, burst, explode;

6. Implicators do not have fixed linguistic means. These can be verbs which characterize the speech of the character, paralinguistic aspect of communication and others. They present the content which appears in microcontext.

Major tendencies have been traced revealing unification and differentiation of the reported speech introducing components. On the basis of ample data the tendencies towards unification, distantivity, fixed word order and subjectivity have been registered.

Key words: introducing components, reported speech, direct speech, indirect speech, represented speech, graphical visualisation, pre-positional, medial, circular, postpositional introducing component.
